About the Book

Presently, gravitation, as described by General Relativity (GR) does not quite "fit" with Quantum Theory and this book shows how a different view of the nature of time might help to resolve the conflicts between the two. The pursuit of a quantum theory of gravity that fits all scales from the Planck scale to the cosmic scale is ongoing, but there are difficulties in constructing such a theory from the ground up based on a combination of Quantum Mechanics (QM) and General Relativity. Attempts to combine these two theories have led to dubious results and we are at an impasse. Doubt is creeping in about the validity of General Relativity but it is unlikely that we will identify any errors in our understanding of it purely from mathematical analyses since the errors are in the philosophy, not the mathematics. Yet, we may never succeed in developing a "Theory of Everything" if we do not attack this problem from both ends of the scale. This book makes the attempt, firstly from the viewpoint of the macroscopic (macro) scale and finally by analyzing the nature of space and time at the Planck scale.We arrive at an intuitive view of reality itself which is both novel and surprising and which explains many present day conundrums in physics. The resulting conclusions as to the nature of our world are shocking, exciting yet beguiling and in some instances, compelling. The author invites you to consider this challenge to mainstream thinking. If you wish to revert to the traditional view after reading this you are, of course, at liberty to do so, but you will be forever changed by the experience.
