Die Autoren

Thomas Bornschlögl promovierte nach dem Physikstudium an der LMU München auf dem Gebiet der Einzelmolekülkraftspektroskopie, wo er die Mechanik spezieller Proteinstrukturen untersuchte, und erforschte anschließend am Institut Curie in Paris die Mechanik und Dynamik des Zytoskeletts von Zellen. Seit 2016 leitet er die Mikroskopieabteilung der Forschungseinrichtung von L'Oréal in Paris.

Hendrik Dietz studierte Physik in Paderborn, Zaragoza (Spanien) und an der LMU München. Nach der Promotion an der TU München im Bereich der Biophysik über Proteinmechanik forschte er an der Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA und wandte sich dem Erschaffen künstlicher molekularer Strukturen zu. Seit 2009 ist er Professor für experimentelle Biophysik an der TU München, wo er Selbst-Assemblierung und Selbst-Organisation gezielt nutzt, um neue molekulare Nanobauteile und molekulare Maschinen zu entwickeln.
