Each series is dedicated to matters of Identity Awareness, Diversity Education, Peer Pressure, Relationships, Self-Esteem and Behavior and faith development. Youth from all over have benefited from the insight found in these CPWD stories which spark diversity and spiritual dialogues of all types. Here's one of many testimonies about the CPWD Identity Awareness Series...Volume I is the bundle book featuring all stories in the CPWD Identity Awareness Series to date!"You address youth identity, but you also get to the very essence of what multiculturalism ought to be. Moreover, you do it in a most engaging and thought-provoking way. My deepest congratulations!" - Carlos Cortés, Senior Consultant; Dora the Explorer, Nickelodeon
About the Author: Ken Coopwood, Sr., Ph.D. - A diversity trainer since 1992, Ken has answered a higher calling to labor unceasingly for the benefit of education about diversity throughout the nation's schools and universities and within corporate, government and youth agencies. He has worked with diverse populations to educate about identity constructs as a means to effective change, and uses sundry experiences to enhance the overall strategic plan of change-driven institutions. He is noted for conducting high-energy workshops and employing humorous activities that fuse identity stages with educational progression and self-esteem. A professor of educational psychology, Ken believes that diversity management is a prerequisite for effective change, and that knowledge of people (cultural, psychological, and spiritual) is often absent when structural change is being implemented. He asserts that people are often more interested in their perceptions of others than the perceptions others have of themselves. His philosophy is expressed by his quote: "In a nation where speculations of money, health, poverty and policy rank supreme in the conscience of the public mind, the most tragic and destructive display of human judgment is still that which conceals the absolute truth of a people." Darrell Brown, MS - An accomplished behavioral specialist with a heart for youth and developmental services. Owner and CEO of Elite Behavioral Services based in Indianapolis, Indiana, he is credited for landmark youth intervention throughout the state. Mr. Brown is also a proud father of two beautiful daughters and husband to a professional gospel singer! As a traveling service provider, Mr. Brown had brought many of the youth's challenges and triumphs to life through the CPWD Identity Awareness Series. His work with diverse youth is exemplary as is the care and compassion that makes him a highly sought after speaker and consultant about youth social. Psychological and spiritual underpinnings.
