It lies approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) west of the town of Alton and about 8 miles south of Basingstoke, just off the A339 road. The parish covers an area of 3,763 acres (15.23 km), of which about 280 acres (1.1 km) are woodland. At about 700 feet (210 m) above sea level, Bentworth is the highest village in Hampshire.
