About the Book

Three Frenchmen, following in the footsteps of their fathers' enterprises, grow up with distorted values of Master Race privilege and accept the evils of the Nazi creed. The three friends individually and collectively exploit the circumstances of the Nazi occupation of northern France, in an orgy of enrichment but a time bomb awaits them. One fatal day, in sheer madness, they jointly take part in a depraved act which would lead in later years to explosively devastating circumstances for the three friends and their erstwhile successful enterprises. When old, buried and hidden secrets are unveiled in a sunken German submarine, a saga of drama and intrigue unfolds in bitter irony. The exploits of a German wild card weaving his own plot is also thrown into the mix of this melting pot of sex, murder, greed and sweet revenge. Looking for a book with perhaps some historical connotation and bored with run of the mill fiction, I was delighted to find a novel wich met my expectations. This unique novel is very different and a complete change from the norm. Separate episodes explode in the two opening chapters, not connected but relevant later in the book. It opens with a bang to stamp the awful reality of the Nazi totalitarian regime. Three Frenchmen take advantage of the Nazi occupation of France and in the situation become collaborators, wealthy and successful even after the Nazi demise. The brazen friends, by an act of madness, push their luck too far by molesting a young girl. A quirk of fate leads to their destruction. The characters are so embedded in actual history it becomes hard to believe that this is a work of fiction in a fast moving gripping saga. Wealth, deccit, casual sex and true romantic love carries one along on a good read until the very last page. Stretching in a time frame from the First, the Second World War and Post War struggle back to normality, the reader is left with a conviction that these families did exist. A long trained killer weaves his own diabolical plans with intrigue and mind blowing audacity to add to the cauldron of trill and mystery.
