About the Book

The Day I No Longer "Heard" The Sun Shine (typed in bold print) is the expression of a woman's emotional journey when diagnosed with breast cancer. A woman who had all senses completely shut down at the dreaded word of cancer. A woman who was unable to see the sun shining, nor feel its warmth, nor hearing it as it often glistens audibly in the morning light as your body numbs to the point of not being able to respond to any form of light...only darkness. This book is the story of a breast cancer survivor, as told in vivid detail of the journey of breast cancer and all the experiences one encounters with this disease, this book journalizes every account. The Author tells of her compelling journey that captures the experience from diagnosis to examinations, tests, procedures, surgeries, various treatments, medications, reconstruction, and recovery. While going through this illness, the question(s) most women ask is what happens next in this process. This book is the guide through each step. The Day I No Longer "Heard" The Sun Shine is an informative, but emotioinally connected book, speaking from experiences of the heart about enduring and overcoming the diagnosis of Cancer. Whether you are a cancer patient, caregiver to someone battling cancer, or medical professional, the pages within this book will encourage and touch in ways that will heal your mind and spirit to inform you as well as help you endure this time. There is hope in the midst of tragedy, and you will "hear" the sun shine again!
About the Author: Althea Baldwin was born in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Her loving parents are Johnny Clarence, Sr. and Lucile Mosley. She is married to Paul Baldwin and they are proud parents of three lovely and talented daughters and four beautiful grandaughters. Althea studied Business Administration and Accounting at Broward Jr. College and Georgia State University, which afforded her numerous opportunities in the Accounting field with Corporations throughout the city of Atlanta, Georgia. Althea is a member of Highpoint Christian Tabernacle church in Smyrna, Georgia. As a devout member for over 20 years, Althea serves in various capacities including, the Women's Recording Choir, Pastor's Aide, and the Women's Caregroup Ministry, just to name a few. In her former church, Althea wrote several plays and skits and was faithfully active with women's groups. Writing is enjoyable to Althea as she has written poetry, short stories, essays, and work-related job description materials. Althea says writing is "like breathing fresh air". Therefore when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, the composition of her very first book, "The Day I No Longer Heard The Sun Shine" was birth! In her own words, .."This book is an opportunity to share with the world my personal testimoney of the healing power of God...it is truly my desire that through my experience with breast cancer, I am able to minister to women on a deeper level about the faithfulnesss of God. It is my prayer that this book touches your life as much as it has touched mine."
