About the Book

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION"The memory of a trip to the South during the tumultuous Seventies in Chile, becomes a key piece for Marco to rebuild his past and his identity: it was the only time he had felt close to his father.

Now in his fifties, after suffering minor heart issues, he reflects on the role that powerful and inaccessible man played in his life, as well as his conservative and sexist family, and the strict times which he was forced to grow up in.

The Villarrica volcano's eruption at the end of 1971, and other natural disasters that constantly appear as continuous flashbacks in his mind, serve as a sign and metaphor of the personal cataclysms that he would have to live through. We witness Marco's journey from his childhood, to the years full of fear and uncertainty when he became aware of his sexuality, until the break with family order.
