About the Author: Susan Lamb is fascinated by Richard III. However, so much is written about the tragedies in his life and his demise, not to mention Shakespeare's evil monarch! And she thought all this tragedy and the negativity (from Shakespeare) makes somewhat depressing reading. Surely he must have had some lighter moments and some laughs in his lifetime? Then she saw what a huge female fan base he has, so 'Dickon for his Dames' came into being! She wanted to give him a naughty sense of humour (which she is sure he had). She is a staunch Ricardian and a horse lover. She lives in the West Midlands with her husband, Ray, her mom, and Beauty, the Greyhound. She loves reading, writing short stories and also visiting historical places connected with Richard. Joanne Larner is the author of a trilogy of novels about Richard III. Having read many books about him, she, too, thought it was quite depressing to read endless novels while knowing that they would end so tragically with Richard's death at Bosworth and this resulted in the 'Richard Liveth Yet' novels. She had enjoyed reading the Facebook page 'Dickon for his Dames' and so, when Susan asked if she would be interested in collaborating with her to write a book based on this, she jumped at the chance. Dickon's Diaries was born! She lives in Rayleigh with her husband and two dogs, Jonah and Hunter, who feature in the RLY books. She works as an osteopath by day and writes into the wee small hours. Riikka Nikko was born in Finland in 1988 and soon felt a strong desire to express herself in an artistic way. She knew what she wanted to be when she grew up and she applied to Kokkola's Nordicartschool. After three years of studies she had a basic grounding in using different techniques to make art and, as well as this, she perfected her own artistic style. Richard III, the King of England, is her greatest inspiration. Her art is aimed at lovers of history who don't take things too seriously. She usually adds some humour into her pictures and those 'in the know' will always get the joke behind the seriousness and it makes them laugh. Joanne and Susan thought her style was perfect to create the 'feel' they wanted for 'Dickon's Diaries'. We are sure you will agree.
