Vorwort Wir stehen vor einem weit- und tiefreichenden Stimmungs- und Mentalitätswandel. Drei Aspekte dürften im Management erhöhte Relevanz gewinnen: Das dualistische Denken in Gegensätzen ist tief verankert. Lösungen sind aber immer weniger im „Entweder-oder“, sondern im „Sowohl-als-auch“ zu suchen. Das neue Zauberwort heißt Balance. Die einseitige Betonung der harten Faktoren neigt sich dem Ende entgegen. Es kann aber nicht darum gehen, stattdessen ebenso einseitig die weichen Faktoren zu betonen. Die Überlebensfähigkeit sozialer Organisationen hängt unter anderem davon ab, wie weit es gelingt, das richtige Gleichgewicht zwischen „hart“ und „weich“ zu finden. Wirtschaften heißt in seiner ursprünglichen Bedeutung „Werthe“ schaffen. Die Wertmaßstäbe sind in eine Krise geraten. Je kälter es in einer einseitig auf ö- nomischen Gewinn getrimmten Wirtschaft wird, desto ausgeprägter ist das - dürfnis nach Heimat und klaren Werten. Werte, Sinn und Effizienz müssen in - ner Balance stehen. Dieses Buch zeigt die Bedeutung der Balance am Beispiel verschiedener relevanter Spannungsfelder in der Führung und im Human Resources Management. In die einzelnen Kapitel leiten jeweils Originalaussagen aus Interviews mit ca. zwanzig Unternehmens- und HR-Leitern ein. Darin werden das teilweise sehr breite Meinungsspektrum und die Spannungsfelder, die nach Ausgleich rufen, deutlich. Die Fragen am Schluss der Kapitel sollen der kritischen Selbstreflexion dienen. Vielfältige Impulse verdanke ich der Zusammenarbeit und dem Gespräch mit K- den. Ein besonderer Dank gilt denjenigen Unternehmens- und HR-Leitern, mit - nen ich ein vertieftes Gespräch führen konnte, und allen denen in meinem Umfeld, die zur Entstehung dieses Buch beigetragen haben.
