About the Book

Written in a extremely simple and easy to understand style. "Driving While Black The Manifesto" is a balanced blend of little known methods that can be applied immediately and an investigative report full of numbers that help readers recognize who is causing us the most harm and how. Oppressed people have a few choices about what they can do in response to the current conditions in America: Examples: 1. Accept the conditions and be unsatisfied moving forward; 2. Attempt to assimilate and find ourselves falling short of what it is we might want from America; 3. Reject the conditions and find ourselves in a fight and struggle for social justice; 4. Adapt to the circumstances that we face individually and on a case by case basis, which would lead to a pattern of self-reliance and a successful life/reputation. To enculturate (or adapt) on a case-by-case basis, one must do these things: 1. Trust others but verify what they say; 2. Ask better questions of thy self and others; 3. Record important events, for further review and; 4. Remain patient and persistent in pursuit of one's claim. How should the average Black person go about the act of adapting to the institutional racism and cruel treatment we experience on a day-to-day basis? This question (above) is the central theme to Bello Bey's message in Driving While Black; The Manifesto.
About the Author: In an effort to convey his business plans and vision's to temperamental Hard Money lenders and Investors types, more times than not, Bello has been able to make the most complex idea's jump off the page and tell wonderful stories of successes that are sure to come. Living in Seattle Washington in his young twenties, and in business for himself, Bello learned that he had a unique ability to obsessively (not always in a good way) research and write about social, political and legal issues (scandals) that otherwise don't get much run in the mainstream media. Raised on all things Hip-Hop, Bello was often in the spot experiencing first hand, the treachery that comes with drug dealing, drug abuse, drug busts and early deaths that happen the hood. Born Black in America Bello would tell you that he is obligated to take action in an effort to help improve the economic circumstances of Black people. For this reason he has found himself seriously involved in projects of Black elevation for more than a decade now. Living in the Bay Area, a place so rich with historical social activism he has found a more fulfilling topic to obsess over other than trying to raise money from fickle frenemies, while chasing an American dream that he intrinsically rejects. Bello has been invited onto several media outlets to share his perspective on innovative ways that individuals can use non-traditional approaches to defuse the setbacks that come from America's common practice of economic exploitation and oppression of Black people.
