La fiesta de los toros tiene su origen en un punto tan lejano en el tiempo y en el espacio que sería absurdo tratar de encontrarlo de una manera simplista.El toro por su parte es un enigmático ser de la creación, para utilizar un lenguaje bíblico, un bello animal al que encontramos con todos sus atributos y características de salvajismo o estado primitivo, antes de ser domesticado y manipulado genéticamente, en vastas zonas de Asia, África y Europa, principalmente en Grecia.En torno a la figura del toro, se gestaron múltiples leyendas y mitos, los mismos que lo han dotado de un aura de religiosidad y misticismo asociándose su imagen casi siempre, a los ciclos de la fertilidad y la reproducción, no estando exentas sus cualidades esotéricas y su relación y afinidad con el sol y las constelaciones astronómicas en donde su imagen representada por Tauro inaugura el inicio de la nueva vida.Estudios arqueológicos serios, han mostrado su presencia, como parte de rituales o fiestas en la antigüedad, su presencia aparece en la cerámica, la pintura rupestre y en la orfebrería; en donde de manera sistemática se evidencian escenas taurinas.Al desplazar los griegos su cultura a otras partes del continente europeo, como es lógico suponer, trasladaron también sus tradiciones y entre estas, el culto al toro.En algunos países de Europa, el toro desapareció, no así en la Península Ibérica ya que durante la edad media, la parte ritual importada por los griegos fue asimilada por los españoles e integrada a sus celebraciones.Al posesionarse los españoles del continente americano, llevaron con ellos al toro y con el toro, a la fiesta de los toros la misma que al ser analizada en detalle y desde las más diversas ópticas, nos muestra un amplio espectro de rasgos, comportamientos, contenidos, significados y símbolos que durante siglos han caracterizado a una idiosincrasia y a una cultura la misma que es resultado de nuestro mestizaje.Por otra parte, debe quedar muy clara la idea de la ausencia, de la no presencia de este animal sagrado, antes de que los europeos y africanos arribaran a Mesoamérica; sin embargo, ha de ser considerada la reflexión acerca de los ejercicios religiosos en donde se sacrificaba a un animal e incluso a un ser humano, ya que no eran del todo ajenos para la cosmogonía de los antiguos mexicanos. Entre otras cosas, el toro aparece de manera recurrente durante múltiples celebraciones que las nuevas culturas indoaméricanas (grupos aculturizados) realizan desde los tiempos de la evangelización y son parte de los rituales en donde el toro como tal, en no pocas ocasiones está ausente y únicamente es representado de manera simbólica principalmente en manifestaciones como la danza.La fiesta de los toros, adquiere una connotación ritual sumamente significativa, al margen de la tradición meramente española. Sin embargo, al observar con detenimiento cada uno de los momentos de los diferentes ritos, se podrá apreciar la exégesis sobre todo en cuanto a las características jerárquicas que curiosamente corresponden a una dialéctica secular que rige los momentos del orden de la corrida actual.Como resultante de un estudio comparativo se ha podido acceder al entorno en donde los actantes nos muestran parte de la riqueza de nuestras tradiciones como producto de un sincretismo y un refinado mestizaje en donde el colorido, la música, la prestancia y la presencia mítica, matizan un festejo en el que nunca están ausentes los elementos alegóricos tanto de la tradición litúrgica cristiana, como la de los más abigarrados elementos "paganos" de origen netamente precolombino.La presencia simbólica del toro se aprecia desde la perspectiva de lo evidente y pasa desapercibida debido a la costumbre, así todas las manifestaciones, o al menos las más conocidas, el torito de cohetes, el torito de cartón, las bebidas alcohólicas llamadas "toritos," así como las múltiples danzas y celebraciones en dond
