About the Author: Mohammad Gharipour is professor of architecture and director of the Graduate Architecture Program at the Morgan State University School of Architecture and Planning in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the director and founding editor of the International Journal of Islamic Architecture and the author of many books, including, most recently, Health and Architecture: The History of Spaces of Healing and Care in the Pre-Modern Era. Caitlin DeClercq is assistant director at the Center for Teaching and Learning at Columbia University in New York and a research fellow at the Interdisciplinary Center for Healthy Workplaces at the University of California, Berkeley. She is the author of Building Sound Bodies for Sound Minds: Architecture, Pedagogy, and Students' Sedentary Lives.
