Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2018 im Fachbereich Geschlechterstudien / Gender Studies, Note: 1,0, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit zeigt die unterschiedlichen, aber doch ähnlichen Aspekte und Charakteristika des Frauenbilds in den differenzierten, medialen Bereichen der Printmedien, des Films und der Werbung auf. Dazu werden unterschiedliche Studien und auch eigene Forschungsergebnisse herangezogen. Man sollte meinen, dass heutzutage, im Zeitalter der Gerechtigkeitsbewegungen und des Fortschritts, auch die neuen Medien auf die pluralistischen und liberalen Gesellschaften eingestellt sind und mit der Zeit gehen. Doch ist dies wirklich der Fall? Kampagnen wie "#stopbildsexism" oder "pinkstinks", aber auch Bewegungen wie "#metoo" zeichnen ein deutlich anderes Bild: sexualisierte, veraltete und stereotypisierte Frauenbildern in den Medien sind an der Tagesordnung, sowohl im Film, in den Printmedien oder in der Werbung, denn: Sex Sells. Kaum ein Unternehmen kann noch auf die verlockende und gewinnbringende Werbestrategie verzichten, die den weiblichen Körper entmenschlicht und dafür objektiviert. Erinnert man sich dabei an die berühmten Filme der 90er Jahre, wie den sehr erfolgreichen und bekannten Film "Pretty Woman", muss man sich ebenfalls die Frage stellen: hat sich bezüglich des Frauenbildes in den Medien seitdem überhaupt etwas verändert? Denn auch wenn diese Hollywood Filme der 90er bei großen Teilen der Bevölkerung sehr beliebt sind, lassen sich bei genauerer Betrachtung und Untersuchung ebenso fragwürdige Frauenbilder beobachten. Dies steht im starken Gegensatz zu der sexuellen Revolution der 70er Jahre, welche im Rückblick für die Befreiung der Frau steht. Dabei sollte erreicht werden, dass die Frau ihre Sexualität frei und öffentlich ausleben kann, doch muss man sich aufgrund der heutigen Geschehnisse fragen: Geht diese Toleranz heutzutage zu weit?
