About the Author: Alexander von Eisenhart Rothe begann seine TV-Karriere als Darsteller, Comedian und Reporter beim WDR. 1992 schrieb er sein erstes Theaterstück, den Monolog "Lust auf Leben und Tod" der drei Jahre lang am Bonner Spirngmaus-Theater mit großem Erfolg lief. 1994 folgte sein erstes Buch, das Jugendbuch "Die Wunschmaschine". Da der Bastei-Lübbe Verlag kurz drauf sein gesamtes Jugendprogramm einstellte, konnte aus dem Plan, weitere Folgebücher zu schreiben zunächst nichts werden. Zunächst... 1996 begann er, zunächst für das Reisemagazin Voxtours, beruflich zu reisen. Daraus wurden 16 Jahre nahezu ununterbrochen-unterwegs-sein im Auftrag für verschiedenste Sender und Formate. Bei seinen Natur-, Tier-, Abenteuer- und Reisedokus lernte er die merkwürdigsten und skurrilsten Menschen der Welt kennen und überstand manche Abenteuer nur mit Müh und Not. Dabei knüpfte er auch eine Menge fragwürdiger Kontakte (nächtelange Trinkgelage mit Bombays Mafiachef um unbürokratisch eine Drehgenehmigung zu bekommen) und musste sich zuweilen dubioser Methoden bedienen. (Südsee-Inselhäuptling in Geiselhaft nehmen bis die gestohlene Schiffsbatterie wieder da ist.) Aus diesen Erfahrungen heraus schrieb er 2005 seinen Roman "Golden Biker", der in Indien verlegt wurde. 2003 entwickelte er mit seiner Kölner Produktionsfirma VERSFILM GmbH das Reise-Comedyformat "Pastewka in...", für welches er Regie führte und das Buch schrieb. Die Serie wurde für den Grimme- und Deutschen Fernsehpreis nominiert. Die folgenden Jahre verbrachte er damit, mit wechselnden Comedians durch die Welt zu reisen, sowie fiktionale Comedy-Stoffe in Deutschland zu drehen. Seit einigen Jahren hat er eine feste Reisekolumne in der Berliner Literaturzeitschrift "Das Magazin" wo er die unzähligen haarsträubenden Abenteuer der vergangenen Jahre verarbeitet. Zurzeit schreibt er für den Kölner Baumhaus-Verlag die Fortsetzung der Jugendbuch-Serie "Die Wunschmaschine". Teil 1 erscheint neu überarbeitet im Frühling 2012, Teil 2 entsteht zur Zeit und wird unmittelbar folgen.
