About the Book

If you are a fan of Hemingway, the works of Shakespeare, the writings of Dickens and Dostoyevsky, then you have great taste. "A stirring and gripping masterpiece", "a spine-tingling thriller"-these are just some of the descriptions of this novel that haven't been written by such respectful periodicals as the Hudson Review or The New Yorker-but it sure would be awesome if that happens. The novel is the good story well-told. It is about an odyssey undertaken by a group of unqualified and unwilling characters with everything to lose. The adventure spans from places as far flung as a diner in Baltimore, the plains of Texas, aboard a Proustian-inspired train trip to a mysterious castle in Europe, to the other side of the galaxy. This genre-deconstructed work of intertextual subtext offers so much subtext the subtext has subtext. The adventure is about the life and soul of America, where the greatest message that was prophesized on April 6, 1967, on an a broadcast of an American science fiction television show, comes to its full fruition within a home on a street corner in West Baltimore. This startlingly work is the book no one wants, but just might be exactly what everyone needs. Do yourself a favor and read it. You will fall in love again with fearless neo-modernist fiction penned by a refreshingly bold author (whose boldness is proven by him being the one who crafted this description). This novel will find its place on your bookshelf between Thomas Pynchon's Lot 49 and DeLillo's White Noise- mostly due to the thinness of the paperback copy, it will keep those other books from slanting on the shelf. Baltimore, that amazing town, and the universe, that amazing universe, is the backdrop for the greatest adventure of them all, where the most pulse-pounding epic journey unfolds. Love, murder, guilt, redemption, and spiritual awakenings beckon our heroes to take the greatest journey of all-the trek from the human mind to the moral heart, and then, ultimately, to the redemption of the soul. It's a really quick read, so even if you hate it, you wouldn't have wasted too much time. Buy the book, and tell your friends. If you hate it, recommend it to those who aren't so much your friends. There is a special guest star that you might find of interest hidden inside these pages: a certain "el donald el presidente." A love letter to Baltimore, but a letter not yet sent- until now. Read this delightfully subversive absorbing and wonderfully lyrical, book, but please do so after you buy it. Don't just borrow someone's edition. (I'm starving.) Enjoy! If you are still wondering what this book is about, then consider yourself a visionary worthy of making the purchase!
