NYPD Detective Sean Garett is determined to stop a predator's deadly game before it reaches it's final conclusion. During the investigation, he is repeatedly haunted by the predator who will accept nothing less than the discovery and credit for every one of the victims found brutally murdered. But with little to go on after the discovery of four victims bearing the killer's signature tag, Sean is forced to rely on tips coming from behind prison walls and a member of a criminal organization. With the information obtained from them and the help of Detective Jessica Scott, a former FBI profiler, a picture of a highly trained killer, out to avenge his father's death, emerges, giving the frustrated detective new life and hope. Then, as the investigation progresses, anger and fear takes over when he discovers a member of his immediate family is the last intended target of the predator's game. Shock and awe follows when he learns why. As a result Sean finds himself caught in an eddy along with lies, sex, and deceit. Making matters even worse, information about the case, known only to certain members within the precinct, is compromised. Time quickly becomes a factor as the body count increases, and the precinct commander threatens to turn the case over to the FBI. The threat, and the sudden interest by the department's Internal Affair's has him delving deeper into his family's past for answers. But the key to stopping the clock depends entirely on what was learned from those closest to the predator and his prey.
About the Author: Pete Chandler, a 74 year old native Puerto Rican, who was raised in the streets of New York City, is a retired Federal Government employee with the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. He started writing while attending Charles County Community college in Southern Maryland. Since then, he has taken numerous courses in creative writing. As a member of the Johnson County Writers Club, he has garnered first place awards for short stories sponsored by clubs in Texas. His non-fiction articles have been featured in several magazines, including the American Fitness, Long Term Care, and Plus family periodical. He has also written articles for the local newspaper. He served in the armed forces during the Vietnam era. He has also served time as a volunteer at the local hospital, several different nursing homes, and local civic organizations. He enjoys gardening, writing, and working out at the local fitness center.
