Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Public Relations, Werbung, Marketing, Social Media, Note: 1,3, Universität Mannheim (Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaften), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Als Beschützer und Verfechter des zweiten Zusatzartikels der Verfassung der Vereinigten Staaten, welcher der Regierung verbietet, das Recht auf Besitz und Tragen von Waffen einzuschränken, scheint die National Rifle Association of America (NRA) zumindest in der medialen Öffentlichkeit am besten bekannt zu sein, weshalb sie dort von zahlreichen Seiten permanenter Kritik ausgesetzt ist. Es lässt sich kaum eine Berichterstattung über die NRA finden, noch ein Auftritt dieser Organisation selbst, in dem dieses Selbstverständnis nicht zur Sprache kommt. Sie setzt alles daran, jenen Instanzen entgegenzutreten, durch welche sie die Verfassung und folglich die Freiheit des amerikanischen Bürgers, die aus deren Sicht in der Verfassung verankert ist, bedroht sieht, wie es dem öffentlichen Diskurs regelmäßig entnommen werden kann. Darüberhinaus hat sie es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, den amerikanischen Bürger per se über diese "Freiheit" aufzuklären und über jene Bedrohungen aufmerksam zu machen. Dazu bedient sich die NRA zahlreicher Verbreitungsmedien, die von Zeitschriften über Videos bis hin zu eigenen Kampagnen reichen, wie die erst kürzlich gestartete "Freedom's Safest Place"-Kampagne, die sowohl im Fernsehen als auch im Internet zu verfolgen ist. Und hier stellt sich die der Hausarbeit zugrundeliegende Forschungsfrage: inwiefern bedient sich die NRA in ihren Webvideos propagandistische Mittel, um ihre Ideologie zu verbreiten? Dabei soll am Beispiel des Videos "Demons At Our Door", das am 30.
