The overriding premise invoked in this series implies, if not proposes altogether, that the "Brave New World" has already begun, and that Aldous Huxley's estimate of 600 years was far too optimistic and generous, if we continue with our hateful attitude and malevolent comportment.The underpinning argument in this series now beginning advocates, if not strongly testifies, in the midst of hundreds of multi-faceted thoughts and comments that: Nearly all of us are seriously hampered when not severely crippled by our governing dogmatic belief systems, because the unquestionable, arbitrary, immutable, and proprietary logic they contain make it right and dogmatically moral to commit horrific acts of shame and horror sublimated in genocides and wars as proven by our world history.Let us also remember above all that we, of the Western tradition, are particularly privileged, because we live in relative peace and security, when compared to the rest of the world. Our geographical and social coordinates particularly in North America make it difficult for us members of this tradition to appreciate, and often blind us altogether from observing the unfolding dystopian existence installing itself. Indeed, our privileges create an illusory buffer suggesting that all is well or at least as good as can be expected, or that we simply don't want to think or bother about it all.Translate this if you prefer as, "we think ourselves better than them" - 'The Wretched', 'The Poor', 'The Weak', 'The Starving', 'The Tortured', 'The Despised', 'The Persecuted', etc.And yet, we are only for the moment luckily in the eye of the storm of terror that is all around us, although series of events at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st are beginning at last to get us out of our hypnotic trance.Let us remember above all that, we, of the Western tradition, are particularly privileged. In addition, our high degree of privileged consumerism creates for us an illusory buffer suggesting that all is well or at least as good as can be expected at this point of our evolution. Worse yet, because we, Westerners, find ourselves benefiting the most from the work and resources of others-especially from slaves and near-slave workers around the planet as well as from our own unspoken and hardly ever admitted poor classes-we arrogantly assume (often most quietly) that, we possess better survival skills than those caught up in totalitarian territories.
