About the Book

These three books are also available on Amazon as individual novels in ebook form and as audio books.

A Quick Overview

All six stories are set in Sydney (or Corporate City, as it is known during some periods of the narrative) although at different times excursions are made to London, to New York and into the Desert of New Mexico. Six separate societies are described over the course of 350 years.

This is an often violent tale where self-interest is juxtaposed against the love and kindness of which humans are also capable. At times it is satirical and derisive of current regimes. It explores why we govern and how best to do so. It examines what it means to be human and how far we should go in our technological quest. And, pursuant to this, it is about what it means to be a human being. The story is not, however, without snatches of humour to offset some of its more ghastly moments.

This series of novels showcases Sydney. It is a 'fantastic' tale in the true sense of that word. Built upon the original idea of I.Q. transference it grew in both directions to become a narrative that breathes out, and in, and out. The first story is epic and global; the next three contained to Corporate City and the penultimate and final novels expand to eventually culminate into the James Bond-like conclusion to the saga.

The inclusion of intermittent screenplay format propels the action and reminds readers that this is not only a novel, but is intended also to be visualised as an action/sci-fi movie.

Very briefly:

Beyond the Great Wall - 2290
Each citizen is given 100 I.Q. points at birth. At sixteen, each may begin to buy, sell and gamble with it. If they win, they become I.Q. wealthy: if they lose they end up in the Glidiot Games, killing one another for I.Q. points and for the entertainment of the masses. Those who choose to stay at 100 are provided for by the state. This is the story of a 1000 I.Q. tyrant, a powerful serum and of two men struggling to understand who they are.

A Vile World - 2410
Democracy has returned to Sydney, but gives way to a return to the I.Q. system. This gruesome tale, where Sweeny Todd meets Alfred Hitchcock, ends with a twist of Greek Tragedy.

Two Jumped Out of the Lion's Mouth - 2415
This final story tells of a battle for control of the city and for its place in the wider world. Good versus Evil comes to crescendo with satellites and the possibility of mass destruction.
