About the Book

"A JOURNEY THROUGH LIFE with Wisdom to Share" is a special collection of powerful poems and prose about, Wisdom, Human Rights, Freedom, Peace, Friendship, Civil Rights, Love, Romance, War, and Human Conditions, created from deep within the mind and soul of Nohemí Molano Lewis who writes Prose, Free Verse, Narratives, and Sonnets. Her powerful poetry reflects wishes for freedom among countries, nations, and people. She describes and analyzes the many roles a woman plays in her life as Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Friend. Also, Nohemí writes about Ideas, Dreams, Issues, and Wars. Through her poetry, the famous author conveys the tenderness she feels for her children and all those she loves, whether they are family or friends.Nohemí offers the reader an opportunity to experience her innocent, sincere, and profound work as a Latin-American Poet Laureate. She comes with a tremendous reputation for being an outstanding writer and novelist (Colombina Searching for Happiness). Her poems provide a mirror for the reader to reflect and contemplate. Also, enjoy a few of her poems in French and Spanish. Her poetry surprises us with the mother-son question about the mystery of motherhood in her poem "WHERE, SON, DID YOU COME FROM" and his special questions from his inner child, concerning the unknown and mysterious. In her poem GOLDEN BUTTERFLY his inner child observes a chrysalis transforming to a Golden Butterfly. Nohemí expresses: "Dear son, we perceive, in some moments of our lives, when something dies or finishes, there is an Untouched Life, Full of color, returning us Golden Peace." In her poem WITHOUT TEARS to her very lonely brother, Nohemí wrote, "Make an effort, dear brother, Smile... Raise your blue eyes, toward the forest, the prairies, and the sky. Go and sing with the birds!" ALL I NEEDED WAS FAITH - as a mother encouraging her daughter to have faith by helping her understand the fact that "Changes in life are necessary to grow."SPECIAL POEMS ABOUT WISDOM: Civil Rights - YES, I KNOW, BUT - In this poem, the author talks about learning experiences from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and ideals about Civil Rights, avoiding Hate and Fear, and Truly Love. Freedom/Liberty/Justice - BEGINNING OR ENDING - A wonderful poem about Mahatma Gandhi from India, who ended the war between the British and India, and peacefully returned the land to Indian hands, giving them Justice, Freedom, and Liberty. Human/Constitutional Rights - AWARENESS - The author, explains in this sentimental and wonderful poetry, about Corporations as artificial persons, and humanity's efforts to reclaim Human Rights. My Freedom/Speaking - Up MY VOICE - In the poet's own life, she talks about her freedom and rights as a woman, as a wife and, as a mother. Peace and Freedom - GRIEVING FOR PEACE - Sentimental poetry about her previous country, Colombia and GRANT ME THE CHANCE a poem, expressing her feelings about Peace and Freedom, proclaiming liberty for Colombian's husbands, daughters, and sons. The Peace Movement - MY LITTLE LIGHT - Poetry, about the Peaceful Occupy Movement, marching down Broadway with Pete Seeger's voice, reclaiming Peace. These sentimental poems remind us about the different occasions in life when human beings have the right to speak up for Peace, Freedom, and Human Rights.SPECIAL POEMS ABOUT WAR: Nohemí sadly expresses PAIN and HOPE in her poem, MY HERO, to her son, regarding the confusing war, with sentimental thoughts and hope toward him. In this poem, you hear her voice on war when her son was in Vietnam. War poetry is universal. Our greatest poetic masterpieces from Homer's Iliad to several of Shakespeare's plays are, essentially War poems. SPECIAL POEMS ABOUT LOVE: In Nohemí's SOLSTICE, you do not see a beginner poet's technique using passionate outpouring. Instead, Nohemí's poetry immerses you into the living experience with tenderness and control of energy.
About the Author: Nohemí is one of twelve children from a third generation Colombian family. She was born on the remote mountain plantation her father named El Tyrol, which he hacked out of the jungle. After the murder of her father, killed because he was only trying to vote, her mother and children moved to Ibagué, then to Bogotá, capital of Colombia. Nohemí received her early education in Colombia and later struggled for more after she took her children to the United States after they were abandoned by their father's family. She studied poetry in her hometown in Colombia under the direction of the Poet Laureate Luz Stella. She founded the Island Poet's Society in Hawaii. She was the Special Assistant to the President of the Colombian Supreme Court, Dr. José Antonio Caycedo, when she started learning about injustices and abuses in her country. Nohemí legally immigrated to the United States in 1963, where as a single parent she raised her family of three children Herbert, Joe and Mary. She taught and was a Dean at several colleges, translated legislation and news to Spanish for various Governors and DMV Directors of California, and televised it throughout the State. She was a Television Director and Talk Show Host and aired radio programs in San José, Costa Rica, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California. Nohemí was loaned by various Governors to state and federal emergency agencies for several years, providing information as media advisor, during disasters, earthquakes, fires, and floods. Her Spanish Poetry work, Semblanzas y Recuerdos, was published by California State University, Sacramento, and distributed throughout the United States as a Literature Text for Graduate Students. Nohemí's poetry reflects her love for both her countries Colombia and the United States. Her poetry is full of excitement, energy, vivid imagery, and colors anyone can relate to with excitement. Nohemí takes us through her exquisite poetry with intimate feelings and unforgettable characters every step along each adventurous journey. Nohemí received many awards publishing her poems through various United States organizations. She published her Spanish adventure novel Colombina Buscando la Felicidad, which is being well received in the international literary market. Now, Colombina Searching for Happiness is available in English, Spanish and French. A Journey Through Life with Wisdom to Share contains special poems of wisdom giving us insight, which can change our lives.
