About the Author: A chemical engineer from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, Nikhlesh Mathur completed his chemical engineering in the year 1981 and did MBA from Sikkim-Manipal University with Total Quality Management as specialization. He has worked in Saurashtra Chemicals (Birla Group Company), Jayant Vitamins Limited (largest manufacturers of Vitamin-C in India during period 1980-92), Citroflex (a company associated with National Peroxide of Wadia group) and Research Centre of National Peroxide Limited at Kalyan under Dr. S.K. Datta. At present he is placed at a senior management position in Kasyap Sweetners Limited, Badnawar, Dhar District, Madhya Pradesh. Nikhlesh Mathur is a Member of the Institution of Engineers India. In his 32 years of industrial work experience in the chemical and allied industries in the private sector in India, he had the opportunity to learn, control and manage several unit operations and unit processes of different products, the economics of the manufacturing industries, budgeting and cost calculations, project management, methods of designing equipment, organizing and control of labor, training & mentoring, practical application of scientific theories, good manufacturing practices, quality control and quality assurance activities.
