En este libro presento el análisis de los dos primeros años de desarrollo lingüístico de Daniela, una niña sorda prelingüística que recibió, de manera sistemática y continua, estimulación del lenguaje mediante el método Logogenia. Dicho análisis muestra el proceso desde el comienzo, es decir, desde que, a sus ocho años de edad, Daniela solo reconocía 60 palabras escritas y podía escribir veinte de ellas correctamente, hasta el estado en que se encuentra su competencia lingüística en español escrito después de dos años de trabajar con el método de Logogenia. Los datos revelados en esta investigación muestran, de modo convincente, la efectividad de la Logogenia como medio para estimular el área del lenguaje en la mente de los niños sordos prelingüísticos, para que puedan desarrollar naturalmente la lengua de su comunidad oyente.
En 1965, Noam Chomsky asume la existencia de una facultad biológica que permite a los seres humanos adquirir una lengua. Al transcurrir los años, su propuesta teórica generativista -que reformulaba ideas de científicos anteriores a Chomsky tales como Descartes, Humboldt y Leibniz- posee total vigencia en la actualidad. Para los teóricos que se adscriben a la hipótesis innatista del lenguaje, nacemos con una capacidad innata e incluso inconsciente para desarrollar una lengua y ésta evoluciona en el individuo mediante el contacto con otros seres que la hablen. Esta idea central de la Gramática Generativa ha sido el pilar sobre el cual la doctora Bruna Radelli desarrolla el método Logogenia.
Mediante la logogenia procuramos acercar, de manera artificial, a los niños sordos al español para que puedan adquirir, de la forma más natural posible, el instrumento cultural más importante del ser humano: el lenguaje.
