About the Book

About The Book & Reviews: "I felt chills go through my body multiple times while reading through La'Shay's genuine devotionals. Being a young woman of faith starting to build her professional career and navigate through unexpected difficulties in social, vocational, and spiritual realms of life myself, I found La'Shay's testimonies, reflections, and sincere advise deeply encouraging and inspiring. La'Shay's friendly, loving, yet charismatic style of writing made me feel as though she was my close confidant and mentor. I strongly recommend Living Well and Living Well Loved to anyone, especially to young struggling women, seeking words of wisdom and strength." Julie Kim - I am a recent college graduate working as a research assistant "We all have our own ideas about how life should go, and what is best for us at the time. But this book had helped me realize, it was never in my control, to begin with. It is then you start to focus on the things that are most important. Yourself. And it is then everything you prayed for begins to present itself in ways you could have never imagined." With Love, Tamara Miller Mother, Artist, Designer & CEO Atlanta, GA Great book for women of all ages! Men you should get a copy as well, you will have a better insight into what women experience. There are pearls of wisdom for you fellas too! Or buy a copy for the ladies in your life! About the Book: The book is a collection of: Daily Devotionals, Prayers, Proverbs and Other Pearls of Wisdom to Thrust You Into Your Purpose. This book is a piece of my heart! It is about the daily transitions of life that we go through as women and going after your purpose and not shallow things that shift. This book is about learning who you are and who you were created to be. I open up about my own struggles and victories. I provide insight on many things, some of which include advice on courtship, waiting for a man of God, how to date with purpose and how I met, courted and married my husband in less than a year! This book will make you laugh, cry, jump, scream all at once. The book is written in a very simple format that is easy to read, however at times I use jargon that could be considered Christianese. Christianese is a word used to describe language that is most often employed in Christian communities. I know not whether you are reading this book as a follower of Jesus Christ. Therefore if the language is new to you, well you can "Google it." Other statements you may want to seek out a follower of Christ and ask questions. You can also correspond with me through email me lashayscrayton@gmail.com At other times throughout the book you will see language that reflects a journal entry, or even homage being paid the friend who supported me through that time. Let this book be a great conversation starter for you. But more importantly, it will make you feel human, of value and teach you little things I have learned along the way to live well and to live well loved.
About the Author: Mrs. La'Shay S. Crayton, MPH is a native of Oakland, California. She moved to NYC to pursue her master's degree in public health in 2013 at Columbia University. Shortly after graduating she met an emergency medical technician ((EMT) (her husband is also a fireman and captain of his firehouse) while she assisted a lady who fainted on a New York City subway train. La'Shay rode with the young lady who fainted and the EMT in the ambulance to the hospital. Little did La'Shay know, that her good Samaritan behavior would be the catalyst that sparked an unending love between herself and the EMT. Two months after getting to know each other the EMT called La'Shay's father and asked him permission to court her. Six months following, they were engaged, and three months following that they married. Vocationally, she is a trained social epidemiologist. As a research scientist, she investigates major mood and depressive disorders among African Americans in Harlem; under her Principal Investigator. She partners with churches to study the effects, facilitators, barriers and stigma around accessing mental health care. Her research and evidence-based practice interventions have led to increased care decreased stigma of mental illness in the Harlem community. She is also a counselor specializing in trauma and cognitive behavior therapy. Her desire to pursue a public health degree came while studying Nutrition and Food Science as well as the humanities at the University of Ghana (Ghana, Africa) and throughout West Africa where she lived for over a year. La'Shay is pursuing her second master's degree at Columbia University where she is strengthening her skills in psychotherapy. She is the CEO of Crayton Consulting LLC., Where she has received several projects totaling more than 21,500 dollars in less than a few years; under her private consulting firm and life coach agency. She also provides counseling in person and online (E-Counseling). Her long-term vision is to provide therapy at her private practice, conduct research as well as own and operate a café with her husband. She is passionate about life and seeing people live victoriously! To connect with La'Shay, please send her an email at lashayscrayton@gmail.com, she would love to hear from you!
