In 2016, the richest 10% of Americans controlled a whopping 90% of the nation's total wealth, and the transfer rate is faster than it has ever been. About the Author: Vernon Grossman-Orr is about as blue collar and middle-class as you will find. He drives a semi for a living. His wife is a mental health social worker. He has raised four children, all of whom attended public schools, and who are responsible, independent, hard working adults. He lives in a modest home at the edge of a lower middle-class neighborhood. He is a textbook example of American middle-class living. He also loves his country and all of the opportunity it affords. He sees our very lifestyle being threatened by a very subtle, but ultimately overwhelming economic shift, and wrote this book as a warning, and hopefully a wake-up call to fellow members of the middle class that if we don't make some changes, we are NOT going to like where we find ourselves not too far into the future.
