Printre realizările remarcabile ale scriitorului Nicolae Mareş consacrate Sfântului Ioan Paul al II-lea, despre activitatea diplomatică a lui Lucian Blaga şi Eugen Ionescu, culegerile de aforisme, lucrările lexicografice, studiile despre interferenţa culturii române şi culturii polone, interviurile şi multe altele, se numără şi volumul de faţă Mihai Eminescu în limba polonă. Studiu şi antologie română-polonă. Aveţi în faţă, stimaţi cititori, o scriere captivantă, un spectacol intelectual, o premieră în cultura română. Sunt pagini nu numai atrăgătoare, ci şi necesare. Cine le citeşte îşi completează cultura în varii domenii: literar, muzical, istoric, al comparatisticii literare, în artă etc.
Exeget al istoriei moderne a Poloniei şi al marilor ei corifei: Mickiewicz, Wyspiański, Szymborska, Ró żewicz şi mulţi alţii, Nicolae Mareş face cunoscute preocupările marelui poet pentru cunoaşterea istoriei Poloniei. Autorul cărţii se bazează, în întreprinderea sa, pe o impresionantă documentaţie, dar şi pe o viziune proprie asupra destinului istoric al poporului polon. El este recentul autor al monografiei consacrate Mareşalului Pilsudski, inclusiv relaţiilor acestuia cu Românii şi România.
Cercetătorul Nicolae Mareş a examinat însemnările lui Eminescu despre Polonia din perioada studiilor sale succesive la Viena şi la Berlin, folosindu-se de ediţia anastatică a manuscriselor eminesciene realizată de Academia Română. Şi a fost în măsură să evalueze anvergura cunoştinţelor tânărului poet despre o ţară slavă la fel de meritorie prin creaţia ei culturală şi la fel de nedreptăţită, de-a lungul secolelor, ca România daco-romană.

About the Author:

NICOLAE MAREŞ - PhD (18 aprilie 1938). Studii de filosofie, filologie şi istoria artei la Bucureşti şi Varşovia. Titlul de doctor în ştiinţe umaniste i-a fost acordat de Institutul „George Călinescu." Diplomat de carieră (1966-1999). A trecut prin concurs toate treptele diplomatice de la ataşat la ministru-plenipotenţiar şi director în Ministerul Afacerilor Externe; director al Bibliotecii Române de la Paris; primul şef al Misiunii diplomatice române de la Skopje, prim-colaborator al mai multor şefi de misiune la Varşovia, apreciat fiind încă din tinereţe drept „eminenţa cenuşie" a Ambasadei României; aici a funcţionat cca 20 de ani.

A publicat în presa română şi străină cca 500 de articole, studii şi eseuri din domeniile literaturii universale, istorie artei, comparatisticii literare, receptării culturii române în străinătate, precum şi din sfera relaţiilor diplomatice şi economice internaţionale. A colaborat vreme îndelungată la mai toate publicaţiile literare şi culturale din ţară.

Din 1980, membru al Uniunii Scriitorilor din România.

Autor al unor lucrări monografice şi de referinţă consacrate Poloniei şi relaţiilor bilaterale româno-polone, Papei Ioan Paul al II-lea, Mareşalui Józef Pilsudski, artistului S. Wyspiański, receptării Pontifului în România. A publicat mai multe antologii de lirică poloneză şi „primitivă," comentate, selectate, prefaţate şi adnotate; autor a zeci de traduceri din literatura clasică şi contemporană poloneză, a semnat în total aproape 70 de cărţi.

Pentru lucrarea Sfântul Ioan Paul cel Mare, Sfântul Părinte Francisc i-a decernat autorului, în august 2015, una dintre cele mai importante distincţii conferite de Vatican: Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice - ordin instituit de Leon al XIII-lea în 1888.

A semnat numeroase volume de eseuri şi analize insolite ale unor evenimente în desfăşurare pe arena internaţională.
