Las emociones son vibraciones internas que nos llevan desde el placer hasta el dolor, y estos dos extremos son considerados tabúes, pecados o exageraciones inadecuadas en muchas sociedades y religiones. El aprendizaje del sentir implica la disolución de la barrera del temor que nos podría causar permitirnos sentir estas vibraciones internas y la aceptación de nuestra capacidad como especie de crear estados que nos pueden ayudar en el mantenimiento de nuestra salud y evitar su deterioro. En este libro se discuten varios autores relacionados con el concepto de afecto, motivación, emoción, cerebro y su relación con la educación. Se presentan, por una parte, las tres inteligencias propuestas por Beauport (1994) para el cerebro límbico: la afectiva, la de los estados de ánimo y la motivacional; las dos inteligencias propuestas por Gardner (1987) relacionadas con las emociones: la inteligencia interpersonal y la intrapersonal. También se discute la inteligencia emocional propuesta por Goleman (1996), pues es otra visión de la emocionalidad y el afecto en el ser humano. De igual manera, se incluye información sobre la inteligencia asociativa, propuesta por Beauport (1994) para el cerebro neocortical, pues es la puerta de entrada al mundo emocional a través de la empatía. Se ha organizado el texto en nueve secciones para desarrollar lo que se ha señalado al inicio. Las secciones on: el prefacio y la introducción cuyo objetivo es presentar información en general sobre los temas cerebro, inteligencias múltiples y educación. La tercera sección presenta la inteligencia asociativa, regulada por la neocorteza, puesto que es a través de ella que se entra al cerebro límbico, lugar donde se efectúan la gran mayoría de ls intercambios químicos que regulan las emociones. En las siguientes tres secciones se trabajan las inteligencias afectiva, la de los estados de ánimo y la motivacional (Beauport, 1994), mientras que la séptima sección presenta la inteligencia emocional propuesta por Goleman (1996). Las dos últimas secciones son las conclusiones y las reflexiones, ya que la idea, como siempre, es ayudar a los docentes, en el presente caso, a trabajar estas vibraciones emocionales como parte del aula y la vida, en general. A lo largo del texto he incluido varios poemas que resumen parte de la información teórica que se ha presentado. El objetivo es tanto resumir la información como presentar un material didáctico que pueda ser utilizado en aula para trabajar con los alumnos algunos de los puntos relacionados con las emociones en la vida de cada participante.
