About the Book

THE UNFINDABLE TRUTH ... EXISTS! SPIRITUALISM WAS A WAKE-UP CALL IN THE 1850s AND IT CAPTURED THE AMERICAN IMAGINATION. DESPITE ESTABLISHED RELIGION BEING SHAKEN UP BY THE MOVEMENT ... SPIRITUALISM CAPTURED THE AMERICAN IMAGINATION. TRANCE MEDIUMS CHANGED THE SOCIAL FABRIC OF THE COUNTRY ... SHAKING THE MAIN STREAM IN MANY WAYS! THE SPIRITUALIST MOVEMENT FREED WOMEN TO SPEAK UP IN PUBLIC AND WAS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR HELPING END SLAVERY! UNFORTUNATELY, SPIRITUALISM GOT SWEPT UNDER THE RUG FOR ANOTHER ONE HUNDRED YEARS UNTIL THE PROOF OF IT COULD BE MADE POSSIBLE BY THOSE CONSIDERED 'CREDIBLE' ... DR. ELIZABETH KUBLER-ROSS AND DR. EDGAR MITCHELL. THIS BOOK CONTAINS THE FIRST 'PROOF' OF WHERE IT REALLY BEGAN ... IN THE HOMES OF THE 'ELITE' IN AUBURN, NEW YORK IN 1850. AND THEN THE AUTHOR GOES ON TO TELL HER OWN STORY OF HOW SHE (EVENTUALLY) FOUND THE TRUTH OF THE UNFINDABLE EXISTENCE OF THE MYSTERY OF THE 'SPIRIT WORLD'.
About the Author: Born November 24, 1934, she grew up in Auburn, NY, a twin and the youngest of eight siblings. Married more than once, she is the mother of five children; a grandmother of 13 and a great-grandmother of 8. After her divorce, she returned to Auburn in 1971. She went to work as the Administrative Secretary to the Superintendent of Auburn Schools. She co-founded the Cayuga County Arts Council and served as a board member and then President. She organized a parapsychology group in 1971. The group conducted workshops at the YMCA, later offered to inmates in Auburn prison. After completing requirements for her broker's license in real estate, she opened her own office in 1973. (She later received broker's licenses in both insurance and securities.) In 1979, Joyce was the Executive Director of the Adirondack Regional Arts Council. In 1983, the LARAC board dedicated their 'annual festival' because she was leaving to accept the position of Executive Director of the Finger Lakes Arts Council where she began efforts to restore the Smith Opera House in Geneva, New York. Joyce holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from SUNY's Empire State College. In 1989, she returned to California to pursue her doctorate in Naturopathy while working in an alternative health clinic in the Santa Cruz area. Her N.D. degree was awarded in 1995. She also completed her ministerial requirements and was ordained by the Universal Spiritualist Church of the Master. From 2000 to 2016, she donated hundreds of hours to the Cayuga-Owasco Lakes Historical Society in Moravia where she served as their President. During that same period, she donated over 100 feature articles, highlighting artists in the area. Doing genealogical research revealed her direct link to President Fillmore, born in Summerhill, near Moravia. She also raised awareness of our 13th President and the town's historian acknowledged her efforts "that enabled a pavilion to be donated on the birth site by the Auburn Steel Company." Her 10 year exhibit at the COLHS History House - "Moravia - The Mecca of Spiritualism" was a major attraction. (The exhibit was originally part of a much larger exhibit in 2002 at the Cayuga Museum of History & Art in Auburn.) For years she has donated her services to raising money for local non-profits, speaking on the topic of Spiritualism. In 2015 she was honored by the County as the year's "Senior Citizen of Cayuga County" for her "volunteer service."
