Excerpt from Post War Interrelations Between Agriculture and Business in the United States These facts, we shall fiua, indicute first, that the prosperity of only certain industries is intimately dependent on the farmers fie nanoial condition and that the we fare of other industries is dependent more on the farmer's output than on his income; second, that the varia tions in the industrial and financial activity of the country are real and important elements in the farmers well bein; and third, that the factors that make for agricultural depressions, particularly overpro duction, may have a temporary stimulating effect on national prosperity and the factors which give the appea enoe of agricultural prosperity such is relatively high farm product prices, may help to bring an industrial depression.
