Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2015 im Fachbereich Medien / Kommunikation - Film und Fernsehen, Note: 1,0, Philipps-Universität Marburg (Institut für Medienwissenschaft), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: "Schau mir in die Augen, Kleines" oder "Ich halte meinen Kopf für niemanden hin". Diese Filmzitate wurden wohl schon tausende Male aufgegriffen. Beide stammen sie aus dem Klassiker Casablanca, bei dem Michael Curtiz 1942 Regie führte und der am 26. November gleichen Jahres Premiere feierte. Erst 1952, sieben Jahre nach Kriegsende kommt er schließlich auch in die Kinos der noch jungen Bundesrepublik Deutschland, jedoch in einer signifikant veränderten Form. Es fehlen rund 23 Minuten Spiellänge und auch die ein oder andere Filmfigur wurde gestrichen. In dieser Arbeit geht die Autorin der Frage nach, aus welchem Grund eine so drastische Veränderung vorgenommen wurde. Bei ihren Ausarbeitungen nimmt sie Bezug auf die Theorie von Joseph Garncarz, dass Filmvariationen immer Ergebnisse einer bewusst vorgenommenen Veränderung sind. Außerdem wird ein Überblick über historische Fakten des zweiten Weltkrieges und über die Einstellung der NS-Filmindustrie gegeben. Darüber hinaus wird auch die Inszenierung des deutschen Nationalsozialismus und des Vichy Regimes im Film analysiert. Den Abschluss der Arbeit bildet ein Überblick über weitere deutsche Filmfassungen von "Casablanca".
