About the Book

English summary: Jan Schroder's work focused on the history of jurisprudence in the modern era, its theory and its methodology. For more than three decades, Jan Schroder published studies of the history of jurisprudence from the early modern era up to the 20th century. Because of this, his reputation as one of the leading experts in this field and as an accurate analyst increased continuously... (from the editors' foreword). This is a selection of 30 of his major articles, written between 1976 and 2009, beginning with the 16th century and ending with Schroder's last lecture in Tubingen in July 2009, published in this book for the first time.
