He was one of the early residents of the village of Palmer, and a prominent real estate owner. He held many positions of trust in the gift of the town. Mrs. Strong s residence, Palmer. FRANCES ANN ELY, daughter of Homer, (No. 868), was born in West Springfield, Mass., October 22, 1817. Residence, Muscatine, la. She married in West Springfield, April 8, 1846, REV. NEHEMIAH PRUDEN, son of Luther and Clartssa Rced) PIERCE, born in Enfield, Conn., August 28, 1817. He graduated from Amherst College in 1842; Union Theological Seminary in 1845; ordained by Presbytery of Rockaway, N. J., April 30, 1846. Stated supply of Presbyterian Church in Whippany, N. J., 1846-50; pastor of the Twelfth Street (Dutch) Reformed Church, Brooklyn, N. Y., 1851-75, resigning his charge on account of failing health. He removed to Warren, Mass., in 1876, where he died April 11, 1880. The degree of D. D. was conferred by Rutgers College in 1871. PIERCE CHILDREN. 2169 HENRY GILBERT ELY, son of Homer, (no. 868), was born in West Springfield, Mass., March 7, 1824. Was a meachant in New York, and died in Brooklyn, N. Y., August 8, 1877. He married in Brooklyn, February 27, 1851, MARY POPE, daughter of Samuel and Betsey Pope) PUTNAM, born in Portsmouth, N. H., February 8, 1825, and died in Brooklyn, Nov. 29, 1878. CHILDREN. I.
