About the Book

When Tricky Dick gets a phone call from someone supposedly long since dead, it sends him on a journey farther south than he wishes to go. But it might also hold the key to figuring out just who killed Scooter. Thomas Connelly is supposedly dead. Naturally Tricky Dick is surprised to hear from him, and even more surprised to discover how much Connelly knows about him. It becomes obvious to him that Scooter's relationship with Connelly was tighter than he thought. Learning that he is living in Cuba, Tricky decides that even if he doesn't want to, it's time for a trip to Cuba. Last he heard Johnny was down there and in trouble, and so now might be the time to wrap up some of the loose ends that are surrounding Scooter's death. Arranging for Smitty to sail him on Scooter's boat (in order to sink it on the way back) he immediately finds more trouble when he discovers a stowaway with an agenda of her own. Add to the mix the reappearance of Traitor Vic, information that Thomas has for Tricky, and the introduction of a surfing pirate, and Tricky soon learns that he's going to have to go deeper into the mystery before he can begin to see the light. "Red Skies At Midnight" is the fourth in the Tricky Dick Key West Mystery series. . Each book builds on the previous, a cliffhanger ending enticing the reader to come back for more, all starting with the discovery of a dead body under a dock as the opening scene in "Talk Murder To Me." The action centers around Tricky Dick, a man with a shady past working for the government. Soon that shady past comes back to haunt him, with each step of the investigation bringing in more intrigue, more suspects, and more layers of conspiracy, collusion and corruption. And, oh yeah, there's a talking manatee...
About the Author: Jack Terry is a Key West based writer who draws on his years of experience tending bar at many of the island's watering holes as inspiration for the characters and conditions that populate his novels. Having earned a degree in theater from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Jack spent the following two decades traveling across the country, living, working and learning in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, and Key West. Jack's line of books, the Tricky Dick Key West Mystery series, reads like a cross between the works of Carl Hiaasen and John MacDonald. Each book is designed not only for the comfort of the reader, as something they can breezily enjoy while at the beach or on a rainy day, but also to keep them coming back. Like the movie serials of the 1950's and 60's, each one ends with a cliffhanger and several questions about what our hero will face next. The books are definitely written for the adult reader, each one being just like Key West: A little weird, a little sexy and a little dark.
