Es ist deshalb nicht verwunderlich, dass in einer Zeit zunehmender Beschleunigung und Rationalisierung von Produktions-, Kommunikations- und Entscheidungsprozessen Entschleunigung, slow food und Muße Themen von öffentlichem Interesse sind, denen sich Publizisten gern und vielfach erfolgreich zuwenden. Zu diesen gehören auch vereinzelt Philosophen. So hat sich im 19. Jahrhundert Schopenhauer die gepflegte Langeweile bei Frauen in bürgerlichen Kreisen vorgenommen und einerseits zum Gegenstand sozialkritischer Polemik, andererseits zu einer Grundkategorie seiner Leidenslehre gemacht. Russell hat mit seinem Buch "In praise of idleness" den heraufziehenden Stress eines taylorisierten Alltags in den 1920er und 1930er Jahren gegeißelt. Wie Ulrich Schnabel in Deutschland (Muße, München 2010) hat sich auch der britische Erfolgsautor Hodgkinson um eine philosophische Fundierung seiner Konzeption eines arbeitsentlasteten Lebens bemüht, wobei er nicht lange suchen muss, um in der Geschichte der philosophischen Lehren vom guten Leben eine große Zahl von Modellen zu finden. Was er dabei freilich übersieht, ist, dass Philosophen (einschließlich Sachbuchautoren) dank ihres angeregten Gedankenlebens über eine second world verfügen, die schlichteren Menschen weitgehend verschlossen ist und die sie unter Untätigkeit und Einsamkeit stärker leiden lässt, so dass die Verherrlichung der Muße Gefahr läuft, von vielen vom gesellschaftlichen Leben abgekoppelten Renten- oder Sozialhilfeempfängern wie blanker Hohn erlebt zu werden.
About the Author: Liubov Kuznetsova wurde 1982 in St.- Petersburg geboren. Nach ihrem Schulabschluss zog sie mit ihrer Familie nach Deutschland, wo sie sich entschied, Philosophie und Modernes Japan in Düsseldorf zu studieren. Sie verbrachte auch ein Jahr an der Privatuniversität Doshisha in Kyoto, um ihre Japanisch-Kenntnisse zu verbessern und die Kultur Japans kennenzulernen. Nach ihrer Rückkehr bestand sie 2012 erfolgreich die Magisterprüfung in ihren beiden Hauptfächern, von denen Philosophie das erste Hauptfach war. Während des Studiums beschäftigten die Autorin die Fragen der Moral, Fragen nach dem guten und "richtigen" Leben. So kam es, dass sie sich einmal die Frage stellte, wie wichtig es im Leben ist zu arbeiten und wie wichtig es ist nichts zu tun.
