About the Book

In his simplest guided meditation album to date, Deepak intimately navigates the listener through a series of Sutras, or "Great Sayings," translated from the wisdom tradition of the Vedanta, a classical system of Indian philosophy. Deepak shares that "The power of these Sutras activate self-repair mechanisms because they're revealing to us our true identity. Self-repair is healing.

Self-repair is healing."

Seven enlightening Sutra passages are recited by Deepak in a guided meditation underscored by profound and healing music by Adam Plack, Deepak's collaborator on such albums as A Gift of Love: The Love Poems of Rumi & Chakra Balancing: Body, Mind & Soul. In this new approach to healing, Deepak emphasizes the simplicity of this practice, making this a perfect CD for beginners and seasoned meditators alike. Includes Unreleased Exclusive Material: Bonus disc of new meditations & music specially recorded for the audiobook release of The Secret Of Healing

A global force in the field of human empowerment, Dr. Chopra is the prolific author of more than fifty-five books, including fourteen bestsellers on mind-body health, quantum mechanics, spirituality, and peace. Dr. Chopra's books have been published in more than eighty-five languages. His New York Times bestseller Peace Is the Way won a prestigious Quill Award, and The Book of Secrets was awarded the grand prize at the 2005 Nautilus Book Awards; his bestselling novel, Jesus: A Story of Enlightenment, was released in 2008. Australian born composer Adam Plack has had a passion and natural talent for music all his life. Despite growing up playing violin, piano, guitar and singing opera from a very young age, his first love was improvisation and playing jazz piano by ear.

Long being drawn to the soul of the Australian outback, Plack followed his passion to the bush, living with Aboriginal communities and playing the didgeridoo. In 1995, this life-changing experience blossomed into Plack's nomination for an ARIA (Australian Grammy), for his Aboriginal inspired CD entitled "Nomad". In 2001, Plack won the ASCAP R&B Song of the Year award with his tribal Australian-fusion song entitled "With You," which reached #2 on the Billboard charts in the USA.

In 1991, Plack moved to New York and founded Australian Music International, which later led to co-founding Rasa Music, a label dedicated to culturally-diverse contemporary music projects. He then began working on several albums in partnership with Deepak Chopra, such as the highly acclaimed poetry CD "A Gift of Love", featuring Madonna, Demi Moore and Anjelica Houston. In 2001, Plack composed the score for the film "Perfume," directed by Emmy-nominated director Michael Rymer. The music score was later released as an operatic R&B album, entitled "CoCo De Mer".

Having written, composed and produced over ten albums, and scored several TV and film projects, such as "Revolution" for Sci-fi/CBS, the feature film "Undertow" with Philip Glass and contributing to the "Charlie's Angels" film score, Adam Plack reunited with Deepak Chopra in 2010 and co-founded Los Angeles-based record label, Play it By Ear Music. Ever passionate for his art, he continues to produce albums and score film and television projects.

He resides in Los Angeles.
