About the Author: Anthony Fudge (Hzal Anubewei) was born in Cleveland, Ohio and currently resides in Atlanta, GA. He wrote and produced a play Migration 1973 Humanist Theater and "They Sing Songs About This" Cleveland State, Second Story Theater and was a co-founder of Black Ascensions Magazine at Tri-C Metro College in Cleveland. He has performed original works at Karamu, Albany State College, Cleveland State, Allegheny College, WKYC TV, and radio stations in the Cleveland (WABQ) and Atlanta (WRFG)area. His works have been published in Freelance, Cleveland Area Arts Council Anthology and counts among his closest friends and admirers Norman Jordan, Robert Fleming and Art Nixon. Owen Dodson once called him "a word magician. He has read with some of the best known poets in America including Norman Jordan, Amira Baraka, Nikki Giovanni, Quincy Troup, Eugene Redmond, Askia Toure and in a film project at Case Western Gwendolyn Brooks identified him in a Call & Post article (1973) as a gifted writer. Hzal has published poetry books Migration:1972 and The Cry of Beauty 1975, "Diary of the Genius of Love was self published in 2000. His recent publications include: A Scheme in Every Scene (short stories), Muntu Poets Anthology (poetry), Pouring Shade (poetry), and In the Company of Russell Atkins (anthology of poetry)among other titles not listed here. He also has written several plays Heimalacay, Arolyn, and Promises Kept. He hosts a writers workshop Sunrise Writers Collaborative working with others to continue the effort to expand the art of writing.
