About the Book

This book Souls Amongst Lions: Battle In The Valley Of Death is about my own experience of others I met who suffered in the hands of their mothers, siblings and in-laws. In this book I touch on marriages between refugees and citizens. My own experience and that of my husband and child has been a painful one. My mother rejecting me for marrying a foreigner. Ganging up with her children, their spouses and children against me, my husband and child. Also recruiting her relatives, friends and some people in the community to reject me. She also hired some stalkers to monitor me and my child. She treated me like a mental ill person. She prevented people from helping me financially. Many people who knew me wanted to assist me financially. She told them lies, that I was bewitched, not normal anymore. My crime was to marry the man I love, a foreign man in her eyes. Mother wanted me for herself. To rule me as she wish. I also talk about people I met mostly those who suffer for marrying men from Africa. These are the lower class people. Higher class people do not suffer because they have money and they stay in suburbs. Those who stay in townships, squatter camps and villages are the ones who feel the heat of rejection. This book is different to the Reigning Of The Refugee, The Citizens Bow To The Refugees and Beyond Four Boarders that I already published. I spent four years without my husband. This was the time my mother, brother and sister and their crew taunted and mocked my Christian faith. "If you can fast and pray why don't you pray that God bring your husband back"! I suffered so much torment, as though lions were tearing my soul apart . There was a time I got sick. My mother would phone her children and relatives and promise to notify them soon of my death. My mother's obsession with me was some kind of madness. What is good about serving God of heaven is that no one under the sun can manipulate Him. While my mother and her gang thought they were controlling me, God was giving me strength and ability to write books. I met people who contributed greatly to my life. God sent people to encourage me when I was down. God still speaks to His children today.
About the Author: Doreen C. Mampani is a Christian author from South Africa. She is married to Katalay Mampani and God blessed them with a daughter L'amour Mampani. She writes Christian non-fiction books and poetry. She went through rejection at home, in some churches and communities, unemployment, poverty, loss of material possession, sickness and disease and miscarriages. She suffered racism in her home and communities. Born to a Colored woman whose mother was White. She was rejected by some Vendas, Coloreds, Indians and foreign nationals. She was almost raped many times in the community and some churches. She was physical, emotionally, financially abused as a child, deprived of food and clothing. She was brought up by her aunt and grandmother (both passed away). Doreen was beaten up for going to church while she was a child but that did not stop her. Doreen borrowed laptops, she cleaned internet café and was given time to type her books on their computers. She also did some domestic work and picked up recycling material from the streets and garbage dumps to make some money. This she did in spite of being a qualified Human Resources Officer and Skills Development Facilitator. God has honored her hard work in that her books are available world-wide. When she started schooling, her class was under a tree. Doreen and her Venda classmates sat on stones and wrote on the ground using their fingers or pieces of sticks to write. On rainy days when Doreen was in Sub-A and Sub-B she did not attend school because she and her classmates could not seat under a tree on rainy days. She walked bare feet to school and wore over-sized clothes and sometimes torn clothes. Children mocked Doreen of her oversized clothes. She did most of her studying on a tree as that was the only quiet place she could find. She endured beatings by teachers, bullies at school and was beaten at home as well. God used her Sunday school teacher and some of the school teachers to mold her life. Doreen's books are based on real life experience of her and people she meets form South Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Benin and Angola. She claims not to have achieved rather she glories God for enabling her to write life changing stories. God asked Abraham "Is there anything too hard for the LORD?" The answer is the same as it was then, NOTHING is too hard for our God.
