Das vorliegende Buch soll Lernenden einen Einstieg in die faszinierende Welt der Speziellen Relativitätstheorie bieten. Für das Verständnis reichen solide mathematische Kenntnisse der Unterstufe und das Beherrschen der Vektorrechnung in der Ebene.

Im Zuge meiner Lehrtätigkeit habe ich die hier behandelten Inhalte mehrmals mit Schülerinnen und Schülern erfolgreich durchgearbeitet. Die Rückmeldungen daraus waren sehr hilfreich dabei, die Inhalte hier verständlich und gut nachvollziehbar zu erklären. Die beiden freien Computeralgebra-Systeme wxMaxima und GeoGebra haben sich beim Nachrechnen und Lösen der Aufgaben sehr bewährt. Zum Inhalt In dem Buch werden - ausgehend von Einsteins drei grundlegenden Behauptungen - verschiedene Aspekte der speziellen Relativitätstheorie entwickelt. Alle relevanten Sachverhalte und Fragen werden - soweit möglich - zuerst graphisch mit 51 Diagrammen dargestellt und gelöst. Die rechnerischen Lösungen folgen dann dem graphischen Lösungsweg. Zum besseren Verständnis helfen auch 33 vollständig gelöste Übungsaufgaben.

Nach einer kurzen Einleitung in Kapitel 1 werden die Axiome der Newton'schen Mechanik in Kapitel 2 vorgestellt.

Anschließend wird in Kapitel 3 die Spezielle Relativitätstheorie für einfache Massenpunkte entwickelt. Ausgehend von den Einstein'schen Axiomen erfolgt die Herleitung der Zeitdilatation. Es wird erklärt, wie und warum man Uhren synchronisieren muss und wie die Zeitmessung durchzuführen ist. Aus diesen Überlegungen folgt, wie man Längen zu messen hat und damit auch die Längenkontraktion. Damit sind alle Grundlagen gelegt, welche zum Verständnis von verschiedenen "Paradoxa" der speziellen Relativitätstheorie notwendig sind.

Durch das Studium der behandelten Paradoxa ergeben sich neue Einsichten zur Addition von Geschwindigkeiten und dem optischen Dopplereffekt. Als Folge dieser neuen Erkenntnisse werden der relativistische Impuls, die relativistische Masse und die relativistische Energieformel hergeleitet. Der relativistische inelastische Stoß zweier Teilchen bildet die abschließende Anwendung der gewonnenen Einsichten.Zum Lesen des BuchesDer Inhalt ist linear gegliedert, sodass zum Verständnis eines Sachverhalts immer nur die vorangehenden Seiten relevant sind. Sollten Verweise auf nachfolgende Seiten vorkommen, so dienen diese bei einem mehrmaligen Durcharbeiten des Buches zur Orientierung und helfen vielleicht dadurch zu einem umfassenderen und besser vernetzten Verständnis der Inhalte.
