International Edition

There is a newer edition of this item:

Based on more than forty interviews with Steve Jobs conducted over two years - as well as interviews with more than a hundred family
members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues - this is the acclaimed, internationally bestselling biography of the ultimate icon of
inventiveness. Walter Isaacson tells the story of the rollercoaster life and searingly intense personality of creative entrepreneur whose passion
for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and
digital publishing.Although Jobs cooperated with this book, he asked for no control over what was written, nor even the right to read it before it
was published. He put nothing off limits. He encouraged the people he knew to speak honestly. And Jobs speaks candidly, sometimes brutally
so, about the people he worked with and competed against. His friends, foes, and colleagues provide an unvarnished view of the passions,
perfectionism, obsessions, artistry, devilry, and compulsion for control that shaped his approach to business and the innovative products that
resulted.

About the Book

In the early summer of 2004, I got a phone call from Steve Jobs. It turned out that he wanted me to write a biography of him. This is a book about the rollercoaster life and searingly intense personality of a creative entrepreneur whose passion for perfection and ferocious drive revolutionized six industries: personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing, and digital publishing. You might even add a seventh: retail stores, which Jobs did not quite revolutionize, but he did re-imagine. Plus, he opened the way for a new market for digital content based on apps. This is also, I hope, a book about innovation. Jobs stands as the ultimate icon of inventiveness, imagination, and sustained innovation. He knew that the best way to create value in the 21st century was to connect creativity with technology, so he built a company where leaps of the imagination were combined with remarkable feats of engineering - Walter Isaacson, from the Introduction of Steve Jobs.

A Thrilling But Totally Believable Murder Mystery

Read this in one evening. I had planned to do other things with my day, but it was impossible to put down. Every time I tried, I was drawn back to it in less than 5 minutes. I sobbed my eyes out the entire last 100 pages. Highly recommend!
