Die Termini "Glück" und "subjektives Wohlbefinden" beziehen sich hierbei stets auf das persönliche Glück einer Person. Das SWB einer Person hat viele Facetten und kann vielfältig definiert werden. Eine mögliche Definition des SWB umfasst die Zufriedenheit einer Person mit dem eigenen Leben sowie positiv und negativ wahrgenommene Stimmungen. Sämtliche Aktivitäten einer Person sind im Grunde genommen auf das Streben nach dem persönlichen Glück ausgerichtet. Der Mensch unternimmt Dinge kurz- oder langfristig, weil er sich daraus einen bestimmten Vorteil erhofft. Die Konzepte und Ansichten der Glücksforscher darüber, wie das SWB definiert wird und was das SWB ausmacht, werden im weiteren Verlauf dieser Arbeit noch tiefgehender analysiert. Die Forschungsfrage dieser Arbeit lautet "welche Faktoren beeinflussen das subjektive Wohlbefinden einer Person und wie können Unternehmen das Wohlbefinden ihrer Mitarbeiter*innen auf Grundlage dieser Untersuchung verbessern?". Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, aus dem Material der qualitativen Interviews heraus Erkenntnisse über das SWB der Interviewteilnehmer*innen zu gewinnen. Des Weiteren soll mit dieser empirischen Untersuchung die Frage beantwortet werden, wie Unternehmen das SWB ihrer Mitarbeiter*innen auf Basis dieser empirischen Untersuchung verbessern können. Des Weiteren dient diese Arbeit als Grundlage für weiterführende Untersuchungen der Glücksforschung, um hieraus weitere Erkenntnisse über das SWB einer Person zu gewinnen.
