About the Book

From a modern day parable of two Little Brave Lights, as they venture out of the safety of their well lit mansion to shine their light in the dark world and from the gleanings of 5 Biblical principles from the Sermon On The Mount, the reader will learn about the 3 essential skills necessary for Missional Living and will be able to create their own personal strategy for being on mission with Christ.
About the Author: Jay Moore is all about empowering, what he calls, The Ordinary Christian, to live powerful and effective missional lives. His life's experiences and education has uniquely qualified him for this purpose. Jay did not grow up in an upward mobile or financially wealthy home. His father, Rev. Clarence A. Moore, pastored Southern Baptist Churches in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Jay graduated from San Fernando High School and even though the school was in one of the lower income neighborhoods of Los Angeles, Jay learned from playing on their championship football team that it's not where you come from that makes a difference but how well you've been trained to succeed and your determination to win. Jay brings that same kind of attitude toward ministry. He believes that Ordinary Christians are God's primary choice for accomplishing His extraordinary work and as such they need to be thoroughly trained for every good work. Jay' education with a BA Degree from California Baptist University in Religion and His Masters Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Religious Education has given him the knowledge in both the Bible and in Educational Practices to thoroughly equip ordinary christians for living powerful missional lives. Jay has over 30 years in full time church ministry. He has served as a youth pastor, a pastor of a small single staff church, a senior pastor of a medium size multi-staff church and he has been a church planter. In each of these church experiences Jay has identified, discipled and mentored ordinary christians to do amazing ministry. After a soul searching time and seeking God's activity Jay has committed the rest of his ministry to joining God in the raising up, training up and unleashing of ordinary christians to ignite a movement of rapidly reproducing disciple making groups that quickly form into churches. Church Planting/Disciple Making Movements is an activity of God happening all over the world and God is now bringing it to North America. Jay is now the Strategy Coordinator for Fellowship Of The Cross in Tucson, AZ, Which is designed to be a network of rapidly reproducing churches and the founder of The Ordinary Christian Group that has a stated purpose of empowering, encouraging, and equipping christians to live powerful missional lives that shine the Light of Christ brightly in their part of this dark world.
