About the Book

The Hidden worldOfTerrafirmaEmilee Stevens, a middle aged woman, discovers a world within our human world, which calls to her. In this world she meets others; they call themselves Fey and there are thousands of species. They are not necessarily good or bad, they just are. They survive on our human planet right along with us, but we don't see them as they truly are. We see only what they want us to see. They live in a dimension within our space and time, but we are a young life form on this planet, and are not ready to see their true form. They see us, however, and not all of them like us. Emilee Stevens was just an average woman, 44 years old, who lived in the small town of Pineville, in Washington State. This town was a sleepy town, small and simple with hard working, laid back people, who took care of each other. Emilee lived in a small, quaint house next door to her elderly parents. She worked in the only grocery store in town. There was not a lot of excitement in that small, easy going town and most would say it was a bit boring. Emilee, however, didn't mind the slow pace, and spent as much time gardening and walking in the woods behind her house as she could. Back to nature was what it was all about. She loved the woods; trees, water and animals.Emilee wasn't married and figured it would not happen in her life time. She had someone in her life a long time ago. They were together for 10 years and then he left her. He left her without much of an explanation, and then she was alone. One day as Emilee headed to work, she saw faces in the big old tree outside her house. It was a gnarly old tree, all twisted and scarred. (Use your imagination enough and you could see faces too.) She shook off the uneasiness that she felt and continued on to work as the faces disappeared. While Emilee was busy working, she heard someone say, "Emilee, it's time to come home." She looked all around and saw no one. Was she losing her mind, she wondered. Faces in the trees and voices calling her home? This is the beginning of an adventure that will take Emilee out of her dull, slow, simple life and toss her into the world of fairytales, fables, myths and legends. Emilee found out that maybe, just maybe, fairytales and legends aren't just made up stories. Maybe they are real and she has a connection to them. Maybe Emilee isn't really a 44 year old human but something else. Maybe, just maybe Emilee isn't so boring and plain as she was led to believe. Emilee's adventure begins when she is almost kidnapped, but is saved by a fey with blue dreamy eyes, who whisks her away to a world full of strange beings, some wanting to help her and others not. A place where there is beauty and danger, magic and cruelty, and where Emilee discovers who she is or who they think she is. She meets those who will try with all their might to keep her safe until she reaches her destiny; to save the world by bringing all fey species including the youngest species, humans, together to live in peace on this planet that they all call home.
