The Trial by Franz Kafka
The narrative comes from the opening sentence of the book: "Someone had to slander Joseph K. one morning without doing anything wrong, he was arrested." It was K's 30th birthday and the twin. One came to his dorm to report that he had been arrested. Soon he was summoned to the presence of the inspector who was in another tenant's bedroom. The inspector did not know what the charges were but told the police that he was free to continue living as usual. K went to the bank where he worked and was later told that there would be multiple hearings on Sunday.
K was not informed about the expected appearance time. But he went on Sunday morning to the given address, which proved to be a big shophouse. The young woman finally took him to a crowded auditorium, where the judges who examined Kei came late.K. enthusiastically protested his practice and condemned the corruption of the system. As he was leaving, the judge said he had damaged his case by refusing to participate in the trial. No more summons arrived, so K. returned to the building the following Sunday morning, only to be informed by the laundromat that the court was out of the meeting. Her husband was a court leader, and he proposed to the Kee Court Law Office. While K started to feel very tired But after the two guards outside helped him, he suddenly recovered.
A few days later, as he was about to quit his job, K. heard a loud noise coming from the storage room, and inside he found the guards who had arrested him were flogged because he complained about them to the judge. K's uncle later took him to the defense attorney, Dr. Huld, even though Huld was lying in bed due to heart disease. But he was very interested in accepting K as a customer. The court's chief clerk emerged from a dark corner of the room, and he and Huld were discussing the matter.Huld's caretaker Leni lured K. out of the room and seduced him. The weeks passed, during which K. found it increasingly difficult to focus on the job and even began to resent the largely unseen work of a lawyer on his behalf.
