Married to a senior Forest department and conservation official in Bhubhaneshwar, Orissa, she has travelled extensively in the tribal belts of Bihar, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. In her capacity as a known anthropologist she has been attending seminars and conferences in the areas of tribal development and has also been on the advisory committees of three State Government tribal affairs department. She is The Author of the widely-acclaimed Study of tribal ethos, Voices in the Forest : Aspects of Tribal Religion.
