Die Torusschale gewinnt in den letzten Jahren immer mehr an Be- deutung als tragendes Konstruktionselement in Raurnfahrt, Reak- tortechnik, Apparatebau und nicht zuletzt in der Meerestechnik als Druckkerper fur Unterwasserstationen, Verdrangungskerper von Halbtauchern, Vorratsbehalter fur verflussigtes Erdgas u.a -- Neben dem durch die doppelte Krummung bedingten gun- stigen Spannungszustand unter hydrostatischem Druck kann bei der Torusschale eine gunstigere Raumnutzung als bei der Kugel- schale erreicht werden. Fur den Einsatz der Torusschale als Druckkerper ist die Ermitt- lung der Stabilitatsgrenze erforderlich. Zur Untersuchung des Stabilitatsverhaltens der Torusschale ist die Kenntnis des Mechanismus der Kraftubertragung unter AuBen- druck notwendig, urn zu den Schnittkraften zu gelangen, die vor Beulbeginn in der Schale wirken. Obwohl die SchnittgreBen, die sich aus der Membrantheorie (Theorie 1.0rdnung) ermitteln las- sen, keine Singularitaten aufweisen, ergeben sich die durch die- se gebildeten VerschiebungsgreBen im Bereich der Krone als sin- gular. Die Verschiebungen an der Krone kennen nur durch Ein- fuhrung von Biegemomenten und Querkraften kompatibel werden. Da eine komplizierte Rechnung nach der Biegetheorie nicht not- wendig ist, wurde von Jordan /1/ durch die physikalische Vor- stellung bekraftigt, daB infolge der doppelten Krummung und damit der Nichtabwickelbarkeit der Torusschale, deren Steifig- keit nicht in so einem groBen MaBe durch die Biegesteifigkeit der Wandung als durch die Dehnsteifigkeit der Parallelkreise bestimmt wird. Durch Aufstellung der Gleichgewichtsbedingungen am verformten Schalenelement (Theorie 2.0rdnung) erhalt Jordan fur die Meri- dianspannung angenahert die gleichen Werte wie aus der linearen Membrantheorie, jedoch fur die Umfangsspannung Werte, die urn ca. 20% heher liegen.
