Este libro habla por sí mismo de un largo trabajo, de intereses compartidos y de dos estilos diferentes. Después de casi tres décadas de colaboración, llama la atención que sigamos dando vueltas a las mismas cuestiones sobre la condición humana y la psicopatología. Una de ellas, las relaciones del lenguaje y la locura, da pie a esta obra. Han pasado unos cuantos años desde las primeras publicaciones sobre el automatismo mental, las voces y la xenopatía: el polo esquizofrénico de la psicosis. El inicial interés por las relaciones del lenguaje y la locura se ha desplazado, de forma paulatina, hacia los vínculos entre la psicopatología y la historia de la subjetividad, y de allí, a la constitución xenopática del sujeto, esto es, al lenguaje como morada en la que habitamos e ingrediente que nos constituye. Lejos de darnos por satisfechos, nos pareció que avanzábamos un paso más en nuestro plan cuando añadíamos al análisis psicopatológico de las alucinaciones verbales o voces la perspectiva de la historia de la subjetividad. El caso es que concluimos, de forma provisional, que las voces propiamente psicóticas constituyen una manifestación exclusiva de la Modernidad, incluso que resulta difícil concebirlas en otro tipo de subjetividades anteriores. A sabiendas de que no se trataba más que de una hermosa especulación, nos empeñamos en dotarla de argumentos clínicos e históricos. Con la introducción de la perspectiva histórica nos desmarcamos decididamente del modelo biomédico, hegemónico en la actualidad. Esta obra, con propuestas quizás atrevidas, amplía la visión antinaturalista de las enfermedades mentales con la que estamos comprometidos. Con ello, a los enfoques de otros tiempos sobre la función del delirio, los polos de la psicosis, la condición melancólica del ser, la articulación de lo continuo y lo discontinuo, de lo uno y lo múltiple, por mencionar algunos de ellos, añadimos ahora el encuadre de la historia de la subjetividad. Un largo camino cuyo punto de partida es la psicología patológica y se dirige a la general, que transita, por un lado, de lo discontinuo a lo continuo, y por otro, de lo múltiple a lo uno. Y vuelta a empezar, siguiendo un incesante flujo dialéctico. De los últimos movimientos de ese tránsito dejamos aquí constancia.
About the Author: José María Álvarez (León, 1960) es psicoanalista miembro de la Asociación Mundial de Psicoanálisis, Doctor en Psicología y Especialista en Psicología Clínica del Hospital Universitario Río Hortega de Valladolid. Entre sus publicaciones cabe mencionar Estudios sobre la psicosis (Xoroi Edicions, 2013), La invención de la enfermedades mentales (2008, Gredos; 1999, Dorsa) y Fundamentos de psicopatología psicoanalítica (Síntesis, 2005), tratado del que es coautor con R. Esteban y F. Sauvagnat. Vive en Valladolid, donde compagina la asistencia pública y la clínica privada. Como docente, es Coordinador-tutor de Psicología Clínica del H. U. R. H. de Valladolid y formador de residentes PIR y MIR. También es Coordinador del Seminario del Campo Freudiano de Castilla y León. Es uno de los fundadores de la Otra psiquiatría y uno de los tres Alienistas del Pisuerga, con quienes ha editado ocho volúmenes de clásicos de la psicopatología. Fernando Colina (Valladolid, 1947) es psiquiatra, miembro de la Asociación Española de Neuropsiquiatría (AEN)y colaborador del movimiento La Revolución Delirante. Participó en la reforma psiquiátrica de Valladolid, siendo Director del Hospital Psiquiátrico hasta su cierre. En la actualidad ocupa la Jefatura de Servicio de Psiquiatría del Hospital Universitario Río Hortega. Es autor de Sobre la locura (Cuatro, 2013), Melancolía y paranoia (Síntesis, 2011), De locos, dioses, deseos y costumbres (Pasaje de las letras, 2007), Deseo sobre deseo (Cuatro, 2006), El saber delirante (Síntesis, 2001), Escritos psicóticos (DOR, 1996) y Cinismo, discreción y desconfianza (Junta de Castilla y León, 1991). En colaboración con Mauricio Jalón ha escrito tres libros de entrevistas: Reales e imaginarios. Diálogos (Cuatro, 2010), Los tiempos del presente. Diálogos (Cuatro, 2000) y Pasado y presente. Diálogos (Cuatro,1996).Ha sido Director de la Revista de la Asociación Española de Neuropsiquiatría y Director de publicaciones de la AEN desde el año 1993 hasta el 2000.
