"Wedding Vows" is the penultimate accomplishment of John Anthony Walker's Elbringe Series books. There are three books prior to this book: "Rabbit Tales," "The Dark Ages" and "The Dark Ages, Vol. II." "Wedding Vows" takes the Elbringe Series to a whole new level of accomplishment in that it surpasses the other three books by leaps and bounds. "Wedding Vows" is absolute genius in perfection without a flaw in the book. It cannot be better, even if another accomplished author were to take a stab at it, say perhaps Shakespeare or Poe or Shaw or Fitzgerald. I do not believe that they would be able to improve this work. It is by a leap of faith that we even understand what is being done before our eyes. We are taken through the text as if by magic and we do not know what we have read or what has been accomplished before us. We leave the book stunned and unworthy of any gifts bestowed upon us. Due to the sheer brevity of its work and the mastery of its finesse, most of us will never understand it or be able to appreciate the true might of wisdom that lay within these verses and para-verses of prose. We cannot possibly imagine the accomplishment because we ourselves have not accomplished this. That is to say, it leaves us behind and in no subtle way, it does not pander to the audience, not for a moment or a blip of time. It is sublime representation of genius without limit and halts the reader with the sense that he is not worthy or intelligent enough to really enter this world of imaginings and cannot acquiesce fast enough to get a head start. To understand the Elbringe books, one must first understand all that one believes and has learned in life and then begin to remove what you know so little about. Walker takes the reader into the n'th dimension of consciousness simply by using a few simple words to trigger subconscious entrainment and release of fears, out-dated mechanisms and social phobias and pathologies. He is a master at doing so and has done so in every single book he has published, including his "Beartown" and "The Frog and the Locked Door," both of which are more readily accessible than the Elbringe Series. Reading "Wedding Vows" gives us some courage that may be needed for the next six volumes in the Elbringe Series, known as the "Higher" Elbringe works, which are not due for publication for several years.
