AYA Daniels is a thirty-six-year-old woman that has never recovered from the loss of the man who broke her heart several years before. She spends and eats to compensate; becoming overweight, depressed, bored, lonely and deeply in debt. She is offered a lifeline to return to the Caribbean island of her heritage and jumps into a marriage of convenience with Desmond "DESI" Franklyn who had been something of an uncle to her having been the best friend of her father for many years.
