A Ali DashtiAli A. Dashti is an Associate Professor in the Mass Communication department at Gulf University for Science & Technology. Dashti has worked in numerous fields, ranging from being a staff writer for school newspapers to TV reporting, public reltions, and political campaigns. He has published numerous papers related to media studies, women studies, social media, and political communication. His doctoral dissertation is titled "The Effect of Online Journalism on the freedom of the Press: The Case of Kuwait" from the University of Stirling in Scotland. He earned his BA in Journalism and Political Science from Eastern Illinois University and his MS in mass communication from Kansas State University. Dashti has taught introductory and advanced courses in Mass Communication and served in various committees. In 1990, he served in the US Army during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm as a translator for the 66th Military Intelligence.
