Mariam AlkazemiMariam Alkazemi (PhD, 2014, University of Florida) is Assistant Professor of mass communication at the Gulf University for Science and Technology in Kuwait, where she teaches courses in research methods, public relations, and advertising. Her esearch appears in Communication Law & Policy, International Communication Gazette, Journal of Media and Religion, and Journalism: Theory, Practice & Criticism among others. Dr. Alkazemi has been a recipient of several awards for teaching and research. Further, she has served as a research fellow at the London School of Economics and a Carnegie fellow in support of the Arab social sciences at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Dr. Alkazemi holds degrees from George Washington University (BA, 2007, Journalism) and Michigan State University (MA, 2009, Advertising/Public Relations).
