Brooke SolesBrooke Soles , she/they, is an Associate Professor of Educational Administration and Leadership at the California State University San Marcos (CSUSM), the Director of the Master of Arts in Educational Administration Program. She holds a M.Ed. from th University of California, Los Angeles, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to becoming faculty in higher education, Dr. Soles served for 15 years as K-12 bilingual teacher and administrator in the San Francisco and Los Angeles Unified School Districts (LAUSD) in both traditional public and charter schools. She has also served as a Los Angeles County Office of Education Charter School Office Authorizer. She holds a California Single Subject Clear Credential in Spanish and English as well as a Clear Administrative Services Credential. Dr. Soles completed service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras and served as a board member for the Los Angeles Neighborhood Council and the Gay and Lesbian Administrators and Allies of the LAUSD and is a member of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersexual, asexual, and two-spirited community (LGBTQIA2+). In addition, Dr. Soles is a Senior Associate for the Center for Culturally Proficient Educational Practice (CCPEP), where she provides cultural proficiency training, consulting, and coaching. Her current scholarship interest includes learning and teaching in educational leadership, cultural proficiency, and online teaching and learning.
